2004 Jocelyn Russian River Valley Chardonnay
Winemaker Tasting Notes
This year's Chardonnay again comes from several sites in the Russian River Valley with the anchor source being Pat Bohn's eponymous vineyard. On the nose, the wine shows floral citrus notes, ripe pear and fig. Pear and citrus flavors form a core of fruit surrounded by liquid minerals and honey. The fresh, lively acidity lingers on the finish.
Vintage:
2004 enjoyed one of those uneventful springs that have become rare over the past few vintages. A warm summer gave way to some hotter days in late August and early September. Russian River Valley enjoys a unique climate of foggy mornings, warm afternoons and cool evenings which makes it a perfect environment for growing Chardonnay.
